Agglutinative Espresso (commission)

Many months ago I was commissioned (again) to make a series of Discord server icons. This is the same client who previously commissioned such gems as Enraptured Athoracophoridae and Erudite Australopithecus, so I knew I was going to be in for something interesting. Just like last time, I was given a list of phrases whose words started with E and A, then asked to illustrate them. I was given minimal direction other than the occasional explanation when I asked what some of the words meant.

Agglutination refers to a tendency to unite, or having the power to cause adhesion. Now, I’m sure there are very good reasons not to serve espresso from a glue bottle, but if the hundreds of hipster restaurants are anything to go by, this is a comparatively tame way to serve foodstuff. After all, drinks come in bottles, and espresso is a drink.

Here’s a little bonus: Coffee in Turkish is kahve, and Turkish is an agglutinative language, which means most words are formed by putting morphemes together with other morphemes without a lot of internal changes.
