I haven’t posted any art in a while :(. I’m not dead, just very busy.

I discovered this book recently, Figure Drawing for Fashion Design, and I’m finding it very useful. I’m not very fashion conscious in my real life, but I am interested in character design, which of course involves some degree of fashion.

Being a guy who’s big on the cyberpunk genre, I decided to try designing some cyberpunk-inspired outfits. There’s a definite lack of lights and luminescence in fashion. The obvious reason is that nobody wants to charge their dress or their scarf at night and carry around a battery during the day, but I think it would look cool. The middle outfit tries to lean into this idea, with the neon shawl. I’m not sure how this would work in practice; it’d probably involve fiber optic lining or something.

The company that makes my MNT Pocket Reform mini laptop also sells these open hardware LED earrings, which I thought were interesting. The earrings in this drawing are inspired by those.

Leotards are a staple of cyberpunk fashion, and with the outfits on the left and right, I was trying to find ways to incorporate the leotard (or the leotard shape, at the very least) into outfits that would be less chilly. I’m quite into the bodysuit+leotard+chaps combo on the right; she looks like some kind of futuristic racecar driver.
